Darren Jackson, representing the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction, presented a check for $1,500 to the Greene County Schools at the regular school board meeting Feb. 15.

The funds come from a grant from the Presbytery of North Central Iowa and are meant to help defray cost for families using the school meal program. “We know at our church for a hungry kid how hard it is to learn,” Jackson said.

This check is in addition to a $500 check presented earlier this month from the same grant for the student food pantry at Greene County High School.
